The second entry in the Architectural Transfiguration Series.
“Comply” is derived from the functionality of the structures we build to fulfill our needs and desires.
The project is divided into two phases to convey the central concept of “comply.”
Inside and Outside
From the inside view, we follow the lights to comply with our need to light our way along the path.
The outside view shows the scale of the impact the structure has on the landscape.
The inside complies with the structures as an element of the outside landscape transformation.
Sketches of the Basic Concept
I wanted to create another human-scale environment within an impossible architectural setting to enhance the idea of “comply.” The main subjects in this scene, the path, the structure, and the landscape, emerge from being only partially visible. This again strengthens the observers’ desire to feel and explore the environment.
